I've had some songs by Margo Guryan album Take A Picture stuck in my head for a week or two now. If I had to describe it, I'd say it's kind of like bummed-out sunshine pop.
Besides the amazing songwriting, I am a huge fan of the drum sound on this album. It's nice and roomy but kind of dry and thumpy at the same time. The drummer, Buddy Saltzman played on some pretty big hits from the 1960s.
I was very surprised to find out this album was recorded in 1968 for some reason. I think the combination of an aggressive drummer on a twee sounding album is something I associate with indie rock from the last couple decades and not the 1960s.

I am really into the Apple Pencil gesture of scribbling to erase text. Beside converting handwriting into text, scribble erasing is the magic of the pencil. I can probably type a little faster on a keyboard but I can delete things so much faster with the pencil.

Backings up a shared text file was looking for a way to backup a shared text file each time someone edited it using (https://www.noodlesoft.com/). I found the answer on how to do it in a [12 year old forum post](https://www.noodlesoft.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4013) in the Noodlesoft forums.
You need to set up a condition on the folder to watch as...
Date Last Modified > is after > Date Last Matched
Then on the other folder set up to copy to whatever folder with the option set to
replace the file.If someone edits and saves the text file, it'll backup that file automatically. There are a
lot of issues with this method. I just use it as a lo-rent backup system. The text file might burst into flames if two people work on it at the same time.

Every year I remember too late that the National Novel Writing Month has started. For some reason, 2018 has given me a Halloween miracle and I've remembered it before it's started this year.
The November National Novel Writing Month challenge is to write 50,000 words. That
is 1612.903225806451613 words per day. A lot of words per day even if you round
down.I'm inspired by anyone who takes the challenge. If you're doing it, you rule. Don't give
up. It's gonna be a slog. For me, I skew non-fiction so that's going to be my angle for the 50,000 word typee-typee November challenge.

I had a dream last night that I couldn't find where I parked my car. You'd think your
own brain could serve up some cool dream instead of something SO mundane. My
brain could have had me traveling in foreign Lands or talking to Einstein or Buddha or
someone.Nope...my brain had me walking forever looking for a parking spot.
When l woke up, my first reaction was to write a Workflow workflow to remember the
spot you need to remember. It is nothing fancy but it does the job. It gets your current location, adds the address to
a new note in the Notes app, and then save the location to a file in Dropbox as a back
up if you accidental delete the note.(http://workflow.is/workflows/c20dbe0993584239b0132a6249402e6c)

It's the day after thanksgiving. I practiced some CSS grid, ate shio ramen at Ramen Kazama, and went to a punk show at the Eagles Club. The perfect day after Thanksgiving.
: Love footnotes. The bands were Joust, Zero, Kitten Forever, and Color TV

I have hit critical mass with devices with dead batteries. The are also a few devices with chargers that need spaces for their chargers. I am dedicating today to electricity and organizing things that need charging.

We hacked this IKEA Lerberg shelf unit into a standing desk. Had to go deep into the source code and figure out how to infiltrate the shelf’s encryption. Once we were in we figured out that if you take off the bottom shelf, my legs and chair can fit underneath.
The second shelf from the top is a good height for a standing desk for me. We put an old Muji Melco desk fan on the top shelf. It’s silently raining cool are down from the top through the shelves.
Standing desk…$20.

I got my second alert to take a photo for the Minutiae application last night. Minutiae is an anonymous anti-social media app. No profiles, no likes, no comments. Once a day, at a random moment, everybody gets an alert. Capture what is in front of you then and there.
When the alert came I went into panic mode (in a good way). The time pressure really makes you study the area around you to find something good to capture. This is going to be an interesting 1440 day project.

Finished the toolbox for my chisels today. Even though making a toolbox is kind of a basic project, it was more fun to do than | expected. Finished the jig for making chopsticks. Did a couple test pair and they turned out. The next test will be with a hard wood like oak.
