Every time I read "It's crazy this song/album wasn't a huge hit" in an album description in Apple Music, one of these three things seems to be true:

1. The song has a title that no radio DJ can make sound cool.
2. The band is heavy but the band name is less than heavy.
3. The album cover looks like the designer was a nice person who probably should work a little harder on making dragons look more realistic.

By the way, here's to you people who write music descriptions of any sort. It is a difficult thing to do typing words about sounds.

The record label I help out has a ton of releases. There are over 60 of them. I've been trying to get all the metadata correct on all the albums. The year is easy to sort out but the actual day is very tough to find.

My temporary solution was to just use Jan 01 until I find them. I've been noticing as I add what albums I listen to that there are a lot of Jan 01 releases in Apple Music.

Looks like great minds think a like. Jan 01 must be the universal date for "I give up trying to track down the release date".

There is something about the arc of going to and coming back from a show that resonates with me.

It isn't just being at the show itself. It is the whole process of thinking about the show, studying up on who is playing, exploring the area around the venue, time tables, talking to people, thinking about future music, and things like that.

Then when you get back there is stuff to put away, things I've gathered to check out later to peruse, choosing wind down music, and things like that.

You change slightly after going out for some music. It's like you are a meteor and something bumps your course slightly. It changes your orbit a bit.

I was getting to the end of the last song on the first album from the list when a recommendation from a friend arrived for the second album on the list. Nice timing, nice album.

I am working on a 15 second video for the mpls ltd record label. My first inspiration was to do a frame-by-frame animation. Sketched the idea out and might have to go a different direction. My idea seems really rushed in that short of a time span. Second inspiration is to grab pieces of the bands videos and animate over it.

I was still pissed about a bad soundcheck yesterday so the day was pretty gray. Probably should have let it go but for some reason I couldn't.

Songwriting has begun. Feeling very floor tom-y lately.

Deleted a super long list of "music artists to check out" so that I don't feel like listening to music is a task.

Listened to side two of our test pressing today. No errors on it so we told the factory it's good to start pressing the album.

A solid rehearsal today. Getting ready for our show on 06/02 in Koshigaya. Started in on a new song even.
